Fall Break and Intersession

Posted Date: 9/27/24 (3:45 PM)

I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Fall Break. Regular classes will resume on October 15th.

  • Families that received a specific message about their student going to Intersession Classes. Intersession classes are three hours a day Monday, September 30th, through Thursday, October 3rd. If your student is failing multiple classes, please be sure to respond for the district to set up transportation for Intersession. Students that fail multiple classes throughout the year that do not attend Intersession are at risk for possible retention.

  • 8th Grade students took the AZ Civics Exam. Passing the exam is an Arizona requirement for high school graduation. 50% of our students passed on the very first try, and will never need to take it again! The students that passed will have it placed on their high school transcripts, and that travels with them. For students that did not pass, we are going to be giving additional attempts throughout the year until they pass. They will be asked to come to after school tutoring to get extra practice after break. Our school goal is to have 100% of students pass the exam before they get to high school.

  • Our Gentech class had a special event in class today. It is at the end of the quarter programming unit so to celebrate the successes, they had Robot Soccer. Teams of 6 v 6 robots had to score goals by controlling the robots to get the ball into the opponents nets.
